Student Spending Project
After thoughtful deliberation and discussion, the PS107 4th Grade Student Spending Project Council announced this year’s winning projects at First Friday. Modeled on our borough’s participatory budgeting initiative, the Student Spending Project is a PTA program that sets aside $1,000 for students to spend on capital expense projects to benefit the school community. This year’s winning projects are:
- More board games for indoor recess
- Hand vacuums for Ms. Julie to help with art clean-up
- Science equipment to raise quail eggs
- A trophy case to display our track trophies
Thank you to our 4th grade council members and parent leader, Kim Berney-Brooke. Stay tuned for more details about how to get involved in the citywide Participatory Budgeting (PBNYC) program that is now in its seventh year.
