10th Annual Read-a-Thon
Mon, Feb 24 - Sun, Mar 1
PS58 The Carroll School

From Monday, February 24th through Sunday, March 1st, we will celebrate reading as a community. Each class will have a READ-A-THON event the week of February 24th. Last year students collectively read over 378,025 minutes and FUNdraised over $33,000. The kids get so excited about this event! Each student will read their hearts out, while
working together as a class and raising money for our school.

How does the READ-A-THON work? It’s as easy as 1-2-3!

  1. Your kids find sponsors. Think grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors. Anyone who is excited about your child reading and making a difference in their community. Use this as an opportunity for them to call, email, write, use social media. Send thank you notes at the end. Get them involved in the process.
  2. Log minutes daily. All reading counts! (Read alouds, comic books, homework…)
  3. Collect donations and submit them to your teacher on Monday, March 2nd.

See the attached letter for more information.  Also attached is the reading log and the pledge form.
