Thank you to everyone who joined the Tele-Conference this past Tuesday night. If you missed it, you can read more here in the Draft Minutes.

Free Meals:

The New York City Department of Education is committed to making three free meals available daily for any New Yorker at any of the more than 400 Meal Hubs across the city.

  • Meals can be picked up at all Meal Hubs 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday

  • Meals Hubs will operate for children and families from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, and for adults from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm

    • No one will be turned away at any time

    • All adults and children can pick up three meals at one time

    • Vegetarian and halal options available at all sites

  • No dining space is available, so meals must be eaten off premises

  • Parents and guardians may pick up meals for their children

  • No registration or ID required

Distance Learning & Important Resources for Families: 

    • Renaissance myON is a student-centered, personalized literacy program that gives students access to thousands of enhanced digital books and daily news articles. It can be accessed on any digital device that is connected to the Internet and is available 24/7. Books from the myON digital library can also be downloaded onto mobile devices for offline reading. To learn more, visit https://www.renaissance.com/nyc-reads. To access myON, log on to TeachHub.

    • PBS is offering many learning resources to help children continue to learn away from school.

    • Adobe is offering free student access until May 31, 2020   

    • Remote Learning Resources for UNESCO 

  • Coronavirus and Parenting: NPR’s Life Kit podcast put together this episode and webpage full of information parents need to know. 

  • Assignment Analysis Guide: When creating math assignments, this guide can provide a resource for analyzing current assignments.

  • Tutoring: The New York Public Library offers this free online tutoring resource for students daily from 2-11 p.m. Research resources and other remote and digital resources from NYPL are outlined here. Currently processsing for library cards are down, but many resources are still available online

PTAs and PAs: 

  • Find  by clicking here  the A-660 waiver signed by Chancellor Carranza waiving the need for PA/PTAs to meet 9 times during the year and for PA/PTA exec boards to meet monthly, and the same for Presidents’ Council.

El Departamento de Educación de Nueva York está comprometido a dar 3 comidas diarias a cualquier NeoYorquino en cualquiera de las  400+ estaciones de comida a lo largo de la ciudad. 

Las comidas pueden ser recogidas en todos los puntos de comida de 7:30 am a 1:30 pm, de Lunes a Viernes

Los puntos de comida para los niños y familias operarán de 7:30 am a 11:30 am, y para los adultos de 11:30 am a 1:30 pm

    • Nadie puede ser rechazado

    • Todos los niños y los adultos pueden recoger 3 comidas en un solo viaje

    • Opciones vegetarianas y halal en todos los puntos

  • No hay espacios para comedores así que los puntos son solo de distribución 

  • Padres y guardianes pueden recoger las comidas por los niños
