Workshop: Perception Institute

Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm

Food and refreshments will be served

Philip Livingston School, 314 Pacific St., Auditorium

Brooklyn, NY 11201

Please join CEC15 for a workshop with Perception Institute's Aya Taveras and expert educator and facilitator Tanya Friedman, who will explore key concepts from the mind sciences, including implicit bias, racial anxiety, and stereotype threat, to help explain why identity differences, particularly race and ethnicity, can be challenging, even within spaces where individuals hold egalitarian values. Perception will discuss evidence-based strategies to override these phenomena, in order to more effectively serve the youth in our communities and foster a sense of belonging for all. The Perception Institute is a consortium of researchers, advocates, and strategists who translate cutting edge mind science research on race, gender, ethnic, and other identities into solutions that reduce bias and discrimination, and promote belonging.

We hope to see you there!
