Last year, PS 58 ventured into the world of digital school forms with My Blue Card, which did a very good job at automating one form: the blue emergency contact card. This year, we have decided to partner with a different company that offers much more functionality: Operoo (formerly known as CareMonkey).
Operoo automates school forms and creates a folder of parent submissions for each student. Operoo will make the collection and organization of forms such as media releases and trip permission slips so much easier.
You will soon receive an invitation from Operoo with instructions on creating your account. It is very important that you take the time to create your Operoo account and then complete your child/ren's NYC DOE blue emergency contact card/s. A new blue emergency contact card is required for every student each school year.
With Operoo, you can easily make changes to your child's blue card if you move or get a new phone number. Remember to list 3 trusted individuals who may be contacted in an emergency if we cannot reach a parent. The school will only release children to the people you list on the blue card.
Learn more about Operoo in the online introduction for parents. If you have any questions, or need assistance creating your account, please contact me by phone or email.
Operoo is an approved vendor of the NYC Department of Education and is used by many schools in NYC. Operoo is a secure site, designed with the privacy and security of your data as its highest priorities.
