Updates & Corrections for Spring 2020 Carroll Kids Enrichment & Aftercare
Thu, Feb 20 4:43pm

Hi! Hope everyone is having a fabulous winter break! Just a few quick updates for the Spring Course guide:

1 - Girls on the Run is on Tuesdays and Thursdays this spring and begins on Tuesday, March 16. This is earlier than all other spring enrichment classes; we need to follow the schedule with GOTR in New York. Priority will be given to students from the fall & the class is limited to 20 students.

2 - Junior Acting Lab with Brooklyn Acting Lab on Wednesdays will be all about Alice in Wonderland. The first version of the guide had the old description from winter. The correct description is: Junior Acting Lab: Alice in Wonderland: This workshop is a creative space for children to practice the first steps in the craft of acting. Through a collectively devised production process, they will uncover and explore a world of their own making onstage. This course will navigate basic acting techniques for the voice and the body while working to craft a new piece of theatre inspired by the ensemble. We will be creating a play based on the classic Alice in Wonderland. We will explore characters, settings, obstacles and themes of the story and weave them together into an original work of our own with text, music, and movement.Teacher: Brooklyn Acting Lab. Grades: K, 1, 2. Class fee: $435.

3 - Mary Pfeifer will be teaching Gardening on Fridays for Grades 1 & 2. This appeared on the Quick Glance Grid but not in the big course guide. Here's the description: Gardening: Grow vegetables, herbs and pollinator plants! Help care for our PS58 garden. Become a Citizen Scientist by monitoring the birds and butterflies in our garden to insure our garden is healthy and supporting the local wildlife! Teachers: Mary Pfeifer. Grades: K/1. Class fee: $180.

We are offering a number of new classes this spring including Dollhouse Design (Gr 1 & 2; Tuesdays), Making A Scene! (Gr 2 & 3; Tuesdays), Sports & Games (Gr 2 & 3; Tuesdays), Latin Hustle (Gr 3/4/5; Wednesdays), Spanish Explorers (Gr 3/4/5; Wednesdays) and new on Fridays, we have a fun Hip Hop Song Recording class taught by an established Billboard Charts and Rolling Stone Magazine featured hip hop artist!

Priority registration from the waiting lists will begin next week. Keep an eye on your email. General registration for enrichment classes will begin at 8am on Monday, March 2. Registration for aftercare will take place on Wednesday, March 4 at 8am.
