Winter Enrichment Class Registration: Classes with Spots!
Fri, Dec 8 9:42am
PS58 The Carroll School

Hi!

Registration is open for the winter enrichment class session through Friday, December 15. All the classes with available spaces are listed below (some may only have 1 or 2 spots as I write this). All of the classes are near and dear to my heart, but I wanted to give a few a little love:

Keys to the City: What If You Were in Charge: I met with the instructors on a tip from a parent and was blown away by the presentation. The curriculum is excellent and would be perfect for any kids who likes to ask questions, argue or discuss. Philosophy might seem a little esoteric at this age but this class is fun and will challenge the kids to really think and look at their world in a new way.

Broadway Bound: Musical Theatre Workshop: Always a super popular class, we just added first grade to open up a few more spots for the younger set.

Broadway Showstroppers with Urban Choir: Got a kid that loves to sing? Sign them up for our school chorus that sings everything from popular radio hits to Broadway show tunes!

Girls' Leadership Book Club: This is a brand new class this year, and I am super excited about it. It's based on a national program that has girls reading the same books all over the country. The books are well chosen, and it shows how reading can expand your world view. My daughter is doing this with some friends. She protested like crazy before the first meet up, and after one book discussion meet up, was so excited to read the next one! I can highly recommend this class personally.

Girls' Lacrosse: Curious about the sport? I hear from parents currently in the program that we have one of the best teams in Brooklyn. Our teachers are amazing, and the kids love the class. Sign up for the beginning level to learn a new sport or sign up for the advanced level if your child has played before. Advanced girls are allowed to sign up for both sessions.

Toy Design Studio: From perennial favorite Paperbox Designs, comes a new class all about toys and design. Got a kid who loves to work with their hands and create new things? This one is for them!

¡Luces, Cámara, Acción! This is a brand new class for us. It's an arts based Spanish language class for grades 2 & 3. We are really excited to offer more language options with one of our very own PS58 teachers. Email me if you have any questions!

Yoga with Talia: We have added a second class of Yoga for grades K & 1 on Thursdays. Children may not sign up for more than one yoga class. Get your spot now - these will go fast!

Mindful Yoga with Claire Benner for Grades 4 & 5: You asked for it: yoga for all grades! Yoga is the perfect exercise to get your body moving after a day in school and calm the mind.

Annie: Let's put on a show! This class runs both winter and spring sessions through the end of June to allow enough rehearsal time to put on the show. We need just a few more kids to fill the class! Payment plans are available. Sing out, Louise!!

Improv with Brooklyn Acting Lab: Our first section is full but we are adding a second section on Fridays. Get your spot today!

Tattoos & Shields: This group taught in our aftercare program this fall and was a huge hit with the kids. It's Arts & Crafts with a twist: learn about new cultures & places at the same time. And what kid doesn't like tattoos??
