📅 Upcoming Events & Reminders

• 🏫 Back-to-School Night — Thursday, August 27th

  • Schedule: Two identical sessions so parents with multiple children can attend:

    • Session 1: 5:00 PM – 5:25 PM

    • Session 2: 5:30 PM – 5:55 PM

  • Gates: Fanuel St. and Fig Tree (Tourmaline St.) gates will both be open.

  • Reminders: At 5:55 PM, an announcement will ask everyone to head toward the exits so teachers can return to their families. Note: Back-to-School Night offers a general classroom overview—please schedule a separate one-on-one meeting with your child's teacher for individual discussions.

• 🎨 Fall After-School Enrichment Begins!

  • Enrichment classes start this week for registered students! Check schedules on the FOPBE Enrichment Page.

• 🍿 Treats After Dismissal Every Monday:

  • Yogurt on the Rocks set up outside the marquee!

  • Prices: $2 Frozen Yogurt | $4 Tastee Pops (Cash and Venmo accepted)

• 🍦 Ice Cream Fridays Are Back!

  • Starting this Friday, grab a sweet treat for $1 each in front of the auditorium right after dismissal (while supplies last!).

📢 School Announcements & Volunteer Needs

Our school community is powered by amazing volunteers! We are currently looking for help with:

• Committees & Events: Auction, Corporate Sponsorships, 5th Grade Coordination, Jogging Club, Penguin Pride, SkateWorld, Plunge Events, and Pizza Wednesdays.

• Co-Leads: Co-Treasurer (shadow current lead) and Halloween Carnival (shadow current lead).

• Specialized Skills: We are also looking for individuals with experience in DJing, tax preparation, or insurance handling! 🎧📊📝
  
  

📢 School Announcements & Action Items

• 👕 Free Student T-Shirt Order Form: FOPBE provides a free PBE T-shirt to every student and staff member! Fill out a form for each child: PBE T-Shirt Size Form.

• 💛 Volunteer for PBE PALS (Lunch Support): Assist with lunch supervision (M, T, Th, F from 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM).

  • Sign Up: PALS Volunteer Sign-Up Sheet (Email Dr. Schnitzer at kschnitzer@sandi.net to complete requirements).

• 📋 Mandatory Forms & Clearance:

  • PowerSchool: Log in to complete the Universal Form (technology, media release, discipline acknowledgement) and review the Family Resource Guide.

  • Library Slip: Fill out the online permission slip so your student can check out books.

  • Volunteer Clearance: Turn in your volunteer application, driver's license copy, and valid TB clearance at the front office (LiveScan required for field trip drivers).

• 📣 Future Buc Night Cheer Camp (Grades K–8):

  • Date: Saturday, Sept 26 (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) | Fee: $60

  • Learn cheers, get a free t-shirt, and perform at the Mission Bay High halftime show on Oct 2nd! Register by Sept 12th (see attached flyer).

• ⛺ Cub Scouts Open House (Grades K–5): Learn about fun outdoor adventures for boys and girls (see attached flyer).

• 🏫 PBMS Campus Tours (9:00 AM – 10:30 AM):
