 Upcoming Events

• Monday, August 17th — First Morning Huddle of the Year

  • Time: 7:50 AM | Location: School Blacktop

  • Gather as a school community on the blacktop to kick off the week!

• Monday, August 17th — Principal Chat with Dr. Schnitzer

  • Time: 8:10 AM – 9:00 AM (Right after morning huddle) | Location: PD Room

  • Hear about who we are, review last year's school data, and learn about our goals for the upcoming school year.

• Monday, August 17th After Dismissal — Yogurt on the Rocks is Back!

  • Our Platinum Corporate Sponsor, Yogurt on the Rocks, will be set up right outside the marquee after dismissal!

  • Prices: $2 Frozen Yogurt | $4 Tastee Pops (Cash and Venmo accepted)

• Monday, August 17th — FOPBE Meeting

• Thursday, August 20th — Penguin Pride! 

  • Time: 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM | Location: PBE Campus

  • Our first big school event! Explore campus, enjoy fun activities, meet enrichment partners, and kick off our annual Contribution Drive.

  • Volunteer: We need help with setup, games, and cleanup! Sign Up to Volunteer for Penguin Pride

 Action Items & Opportunities

•  Free PBE T-Shirt Size Form: FOPBE provides a free t-shirt to every student and staff member! Please fill out the PBE T-Shirt Size Form. (Submit a separate form for each child).

•  PowerSchool Universal Form: Log into the [PowerSchool Parent Portal] to review the Family Resource Guide and complete the required Universal Form (media release, tech use, discipline).

•  Library Permission Slip: Fill out the online permission slip for each child so they can check out books this year.

•  Get Cleared to Volunteer: Drop off your completed volunteer application, driver's license copy, and valid TB clearance (taken within 4 years) at the front office. (Note: Field trip drivers also require a LiveScan check).

•  Join PBE PALS (Parents at Lunch Support): Help supervise lunch/recess (M, T, Th, F 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM). Contact Dr. Schnitzer at kschnitzer@sandi.net or Sign Up on Konstella.

 Fall After-School Enrichment

Classes start as early as August 24th and run through Thanksgiving! Explore the full lineup of programs and register on the FOPBE After-School Enrichment Page.

 Community News

• Cub Scouts Open House (Grades K–5 Boys & Girls): Thursday, August 20th | 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at the Pacific Beach Recreation Center. Come learn about fun outdoor adventures!
