  • Catch Mission Bagel at the corner marquee every Monday morning selling coffee (from Coffee Cycle) and fresh bagels!

  • Send a spooktacular treat and a special message to your favorite Penguin, friend, teacher, or staff member!

  • Details: $1 each (cash only), sold before and after school by the corner marquee. Delivered to classrooms on Friday, Oct 30th. All proceeds support 5th Grade end-of-year celebrations! 🎃

• 🌱 Saturday, Oct 24th — PBE Fall Garden Clean-Up Day (8:00 AM – 10:30 AM)

  • Come help spruce up our campus garden for fall! We are also looking for volunteers with woodworking skills to assist with repairing garden beds. (Note: This is not a drop-off event).

• 📚 Saturday, Oct 24th — Core Academy Soft Opening (Halloween Theme!)

  • Free Saturday academic program with Halloween-themed activities! Includes complimentary breakfast and lunch.

🎃 Halloween Festivities & Carnival — Friday, October 30th

👻 Annual Costume Parade (~8:10 AM)

Join us on the school blacktop right after morning drop-off! Please view the parade map and stay in designated spectator areas.

• Costume Guidelines:

  • DO: Ensure costumes allow students to see, hear, walk, and participate safely. Must be school-appropriate and respectful of all communities.

  • DO NOT INCLUDE: Full-face masks/coverings, realistic/toy weapons, blood/gore, or excessively frightening themes.

🎪 PBE Halloween Carnival (5:00 PM – 7:00 PM)

Games, prizes, candy, food, a costume contest, face painting, photo booth, and lots of family fun!

• 🎁 Donation Drive (Now through Wed, Oct 28): Drop off like-new stuffed animals and gently used Halloween costumes at the main office to support carnival prizes!

• Volunteer opportunities will be posted on Konstella soon!

• 🤝 FOPBE Volunteer Openings: Parent leads and helpers needed for:

  • Committees & Events: Corporate Sponsorships, 5th Grade Coordination, & Pizza Wednesdays.

  • Co-Leads: Halloween Carnival (shadow lead).

  • Specialized Skills: DJs & tax preparation!

• 💛 PBE PALS (Lunch Supervision): Supervise lunch (M, T, Th, F from 10:15 AM – 12:15 PM). Sign Up Here via Konstella (Email Dr. Schnitzer at kschnitzer@sandi.net for clearance requirements).

• 📝 Independent Study: Available for planned absences (3 to 15 consecutive days total per year). Principal approval required.

• 🎵 MBHS Spooky Halloween Concert (Fri, Oct 30 at 2:00 PM): Free admission showcase featuring the Concert Choir, String Orchestra, and Wind/Symphony Orchestras playing seasonal music at Mission Bay High School (Rm 113).
