Scheduled School Events:

  • Minimum Day for Spring Conference (Thursday 26th and Friday 27th Mar 2026)

    Please note that we have Minimum Days this Thursday, March 26th and Friday, March 27th for Spring Conferences.

    • Dismissal Time: 12:15 PM

    • After-School Programs: If your student attends Primetime, Klassic Kids, or Whole Child, they will report directly to those programs at dismissal as usual.

  • 🌸 Spring Break: (Monday 30th Mar - Friday 3rd Apr 2026)

    Just a reminder that there is no school next week for Spring Break!

    • Break Dates: Monday, March 30th – Friday, April 3rd

    • School Resumes: Monday, April 6th

  • Lighthouse Celebration during Morning Huddle: (Monday 6th Apr 2026)

    Join us at the Morning Huddle for a special Lighthouse School Celebration. You won't want to miss it as we honor this huge achievement together!

    We will be serving Pizza Pal Pizza in front of the auditorium.

  • Jogging Club: (Wednesday 25th Mar and Friday 27th Mar 2026)

    Ready to run? Join us on the field every Wednesday and Friday morning!

    • Time: We start running promptly at 7:30 AM. Arrive by 7:25 AM to grab your Runner ID card and stretch.

  • Ice Cream Fridays: (Friday 27th Mar 2026)

    Support the 5th Grade! Grab a delicious ice cream treat for only $1 outside the auditorium.

 
School Announcements: 
  • 📝 Action Required: 2026–27 Student Registration

    Starting Monday, March 23, all currently enrolled families (TK–11) must confirm their student’s enrollment for the next school year.

    • Where: Log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

    • What: Select the "Student Registration for Next Year" form from the navigation menu.

    • Why: Confirm if your student is returning, update your contact info/address, or notify the district if you are moving.

    • Deadline: Friday, May 8, 2026 (11:59 p.m.).

  • PBE is Hosting Summer School This Year

    • Session 1: Summer Academic Morning Program and Summer Afternoon Prime Time Program will be open at 52 sites:
      • Thursday, June 4 - Thursday, July 2; no school Friday, June 19. (8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
      • Summer Afternoon Prime Time Program (12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.)
    • Session 2: Summer Prime Time Enrichment:
      • July 6 through July 17 (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.)

  • PBE is Looking for PALS

    PBE is looking for PALS! Pals are Parents at Lunch Support. Are you available to volunteer Mondays, Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Fridays from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.?
    Being a PBE PAL is a great way to support our school and also see your child during the school day. If you are available and willing, even if it is just one or two days a week, please email Dr. Schnitzer at kschnitzer@sandi.net.
    Being a PBE volunteer is easy, you just need to complete a volunteer application, provide a copy of TB (tuberculosis) clearance - these are good for 4 years, and provide a copy of your driver's license.

  • State-wide CAASPP Testing is Almost Here!

    Statewide assessments provide a complete picture of your child’s learning and help identify areas for extra support.

    Practice at Home Students can take practice tests on any device before spring testing begins:

    1. Visit: caaspp-elpac.org

    2. Select: "Practice and Training Tests," then "Practice and Training Tests for Students."

    3. Login: Click "Sign-in" (no credentials required).

    4. Select: Choose your child's grade level.

    5. Start: Scroll to "Smarter Balanced" to begin.

  • Link Your Ralphs Card to PBE!

    Link your Ralphs Shopper's Card to FRIENDS OF PACIFIC BEACH ELEMENTARY (FOPBE) for free to automatically donate a portion of your purchases to PBE!
    To enroll: Sign into your Ralphs account, go to "Community Contributions," search for "FRIENDS OF PACIFIC BEACH ELEMENTARY," and click "Enroll."

We would like to highlight local organizations and activities that families might be interested in:

  • Mission Bay Youth Baseball:

    Get ready to play ball! Mission Bay Youth Baseball (MBYB) is open to PBE classmates aged 4 to 12 for the Spring 2026 season (Feb 21st – May 3rd).
    Registration opens November 1st!

  • Easter Carnival & Egg Hunt: (Sunday 5th Apr 2026)

    Looking for some holiday fun? King's Cross Church is hosting a free Community Easter Carnival and you're invited!

    • When: Easter Sunday, April 5 | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

    • Where: Kate Sessions Park

    • What: Egg hunts, bounce houses, face painting, crafts, and food trucks.

    • Cost: FREE for the community!

    It’s a great way to enjoy the afternoon at the park with local families. Check out the flyer for more details!
