A Final PTO Thank You!

As we close out the 2023-2024 school year, the PGS PTO would like to thank our amazing community of parents, students, and teachers for all of your support and efforts this year to make it a special one.  With your help we were able to achieve our fundraising goals, which will  allow the PTO to continue to provide families, students, and staff with resources, events, and the means to support the school curriculum, and teachers. Some of the things we were able to do this year with your support include:

This year the PGS PTO committed to provide all grades funding for in school and/or out of school field trips that would help to enhance and support the grade level curriculum.

We provided 53 teachers and support staff stipends ($150.00 each) to be used for classroom materials.

The PGS Staff, that topped off at 110 amazing humans, were provided with four luncheons throughout the school year; a welcome back to school luncheon, two lunches during conferences, and a teacher appreciation luncheon.

With your help we were able to stock and share the “Kindness Cart” with our teachers twice a month this year, putting a smile on many faces.

Our PGS families were treated to many wonderful family events such as the Outdoor Movie Night, Trunk or Treat, Family Skate Night, Bingo Night, and our famous Piney-Palooza.

We also sponsored a number of off campus family events this year that included Disney on Ice, Ringling Brothers, a Wolf Pack game, and a Yard Goats game.

We hosted two visiting authors, Katie Woods for the third and fourth graders, and Shawn George, accompanied by Jan Cohen (former PGS art teacher and illustrator) for grades K-2.

The PTO sponsored our first musician in residence, Steve Roslonek, of Steve Songs, to work with our students to create and record a new school song for PGS. Listen to our new school song on both Spotify and Amazon Music!

Monies from some of our fundraising events went towards school improvements, including a STEAM library filled with teacher requested activities and manipulatives, two large playground equipment boxes and playground equipment, four Cricut machines purchased for staff use, and tables purchased for events such as the bookfair and open house.

We helped to support and grow our school library through our Legacy Book club initiative.

It's hard to believe that we fit all of this into one school year!  We are truly grateful for all of the support that you have provided to the PTO and school. None of this would have been possible without your help in fundraising and volunteering throughout the year.  We are looking forward to the 2024-2025 school year to bring you new and exciting fundraisers and events! We hope that you have a wonderful summer until then.

Sincerely,

The PGS PTO Board
