Dear PFA Families,
We have been struggling to get enough parents to sign up to help cover lunch time yard duty. Please understand your participation is absolutely mandatory for the welfare of your kids. At lunch recess we have about 150 kids from ages Kinder to high school sharing the space behind the building. Though this time is meant for fun and to get some physical exercise, it can also be a bit chaotic and even dangerous, physically and emotionally. It is not uncommon when kids are in such large groups with fewer restriction and adult oversight, they can get wild and reduce their self control. We need you, as parents to participate in bringing safety and oversight. Remember this is a Home schooling program. As home schooling parent, you have said 'Yes' to the concept that YOU are the primary caregiver of your children. You must reject the temptation to think that yard duty is the responsibility of the school. We work hard to keep the cost of this program affordable, so we do not have the funds to hire 8 people permanently cover yard duty.

We still have many families who have not signed up for any dates. If this is you, please take the next few week to choose which dates you would like to be here. If you have not signed up as of December, we will assign the eight required participations for you. If you do not show up for you assigned date, you will be charged $30.
