Food waste in school cafeterias is an alarming amount (up to 75 pounds daily at Ralston, not counting kitchen food waste).  

Ralston students have done an amazing job helping divert food scraps from the landfill, thereby reducing our carbon footprint and reducing our greenhouse emissions.

As a school community we can implement the program on more days and begin donating to food banks with additional volunteer help during lunch hours. Even one day/school year helps!
