Thanks to our AMP team, Mrs. Nikki Kneuer, Mrs. Denise Greve, and Mrs. Shealyn Crocombe, for making Makerspace happen - it has been a big hit at school over the last year!

What's Makerspace Lab? A place where students explore, create, tinker, imagine and engage in learning in meaningful and authentic ways. All students have access to the Makerspace Lab as it fits into the learning experiences planned in their classrooms.

Makerspaces are increasingly being looked to as a method for engaging learners in creative, higher-order problem-solving through hands-on design, construction, and iteration. Makerspaces have the potential to effectively address the necessary skill-sets for students to succeed in the future. A research study conducted by Small (2014) found that students who participated in activities involving innovation were inquisitive, imaginative and motivated. They exhibit a desire to solve real problems that could help people (as cited in Moorefield-Lang, 2015, p.108).
