Volunteers Needed - Cafeteria Compost Program
Thu, Oct 26 10:22am

Greetings, Ralston families! Now that the VERY successful Fall festival is behind us I wanted to throw out an ask for more volunteers for the cafeteria compost program that is up and running thanks to the support of the staff and the generosity of the PTA. We are off to a great start and are making a huge difference as we have diverted hundreds of pounds of compost already. We can make an even bigger impact (including food donations to food pantries) with more parents on board.

The perk of helping out is that you get to say hi to your kiddo(s) during lunch, it’s a win win! Even ONE shift is helpful 😊 Also feel free to recruit relatives and neighbors! We appreciate any help we can get.

What we need:

Volunteers in the cafeteria from 10:40-12:15 (set out compost bins, help students properly dispose of food waste, weigh diverted food waste at the end of all lunch periods)

Food waste transport: either at 12:15 OR when you come for pickup after school, whichever works best for you. Take buckets behind King Soopers in Evergreen and rinse buckets, return to cafeteria before lunch the following day.

Please contact Annie Loechell with any questions
