PTO Updates for the week of 1/28/2019
Wed, Jan 30 3:00pm

Hello Redstone families. Here are your PTO updates for the week of 1/28/2019:

Leaders Lending a Helping Hand

Redstone is doing a winter wear drive for Castro Elementary. Their school has a lot of students who don't have homes or warm winter gear. We are collecting coats, mittens, gloves, hats, blankets, scarfs, socks and any other warm winter gear you can find! We will be collecting items until February 15th.

We will also be having another Blanket Making Night in order to make blankets for the families at Castro Elementary. Please bring your family and come join us at Redstone Elementary in the Learning Commons on Wednesday, February 6th from 4:00pm-5:30pm to help make blankets. Please RSVP to the event by clicking Here. We can't wait to see you there!

Spring Book Fair

Our Spring Book Fair is quickly approaching - March 11-14 2019. The theme is Dino-Mite! There will be dinosaurs galore! We would greatly appreciate any help you can provide!! There are many different aspects of a book fair, so please take a look and see if there are any opportunities that appeal to you! If it is a challenge for you to get into the school during the day, you can help with decorations and/or advertising on your own time in advance of the book fair!

Any help is appreciated! Thank you for your support! - Bridget Franco

Donuts for Dads

Calling all fathers, grandfathers, uncles, friends, or other male role models (moms/women always welcome, too)! Donuts for Dads will be held Friday, February 8th at 7:45 AM in the Redstone cafeteria. Roll on in for some delicious treats, juice, and coffee and have fun spending time with your kid(s) at this popular annual event. Please plan to stay with your students until at least 8:25 when they are allowed in their classrooms. There are still a few volunteer openings if you are able to help out. Sign up Here
Thanks and see you there!
Spring Event/Auction

The annual Spring Event/Auction is quickly approaching. This years event will take place on April 12th and will be a family Hawaiian Luau at Rock Canyon High School. We will have more information about the event soon, but in the meantime, the PTO could use some help!

How Can I Help With the Auction and Event?

  • Donate money (the money will go toward the event or auction items).  We can accept cash, checks made out to Redstone PTO

  • Donate use of a vacation home- These are a HUGE hit!

  • Donate tickets to sporting events, the symphony or theater tickets

  • Donate lift tickets, ski passes, or ski lessons

  • Donate new, high-quality, sought after items you already own

  • Donate unused gift cards you already own

  • Donate items or a service that your business provides

  • Solicit businesses you frequent for items for the auction (donation request/receipt attached)

  • Attend the event/auction and bid on items

  • Offer to work a shift at the event or help with the committees beforehand

We would love if every family could make at least one contribution in order to make the auction a success. If you have items to donate, have your child bring them to their teacher and we will collect them. If you have intangibles to donate, please email Valerie Armstrong or Sarah Ratcliff  with the information that we’ll need for the auction and your contact information.

All of these donations are tax deductible, so we have attached a donation request/receipt.  If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us! To sign up to volunteer please click Here

Thank you so much!

VIP Parking Spots
Congratulations to the Denning and Wilcox families -- our February VIPs. The VIP parking spots are reserved for these families ONLY.  Others that park in these spots will be towed.  Please respect the school signs and park in the unassigned spots.  We understand that sometimes the parking lot is full but these spots have been paid for the month by these families. Thank you for your cooperation and at our spring event in April you will have the opportunity to bid for a spot for a month next school year!!

Spirit Wear Fridays

Don’t forget Spirit Wear Fridays at Redstone. Students are encouraged to wear their RSE gear or school colors (burgundy, black & silver) to show their school pride. Don’t forget those awesome Rockin’ Run shirts! Hats are ok too. The class with the most participation will be eligible for a monthly class prize.

Mr. Sid is Retiring
Mr Sid is retiring at the end of the month. His last official day is January 31st. The PTO will miss Mr. Sid and all the help he has provided us over the years. Parents, remind your kids to say goodbye to Mr. Sid before he leaves or make him a handwritten note thanking him for all he has done for RSE.
