Redstone Elementary School

Hello Redstone Families. Here are your PTO updates for the week of 10/22/18:

Fall Festival

Thank you so much to all of our families that were able to come out for the Fall Festival.  A huge thanks to our event coordinators, Shannon Calkins and Martha Sheehy as well as our many parent and teacher volunteers. We also appreciate all of the generous donations of goodies for the event. Our community is the BEST!!

Flex Friday Volunteers Needed

We are excited to continue FLEX Fridays at RSE this year. The flex stands for Flexible Learning Experiences. This is a great opportunity to offer our students voice and choice and an opportunity to explore their interests and passions.

We need the help of our community to make this opportunity a success. Our specials teachers will be designing and teaching classes, but we are looking for additional instructors. We would love for parents that have a passion or talent in an area to help facilitate a session for students. Ideas include but are not limited to: photography, cooking, crafts, knitting, dance, drama, computer science, movie making, sports, guitar. If you have questions or would like clarification, please reach out to Mrs. Lynch for more information. If you are interested in teaching a course, please complete this form. The more groups we offer, the smaller the class size.

Halloween Parade and Celebrations

We will be celebrating Halloween at Redstone on October 31st beginning with a costume parade at 9am. Weather permitting the parade will take place on the walking track out back behind the school. Parents are invited to go directly to the field when arriving to find a great spot to watch. Following the parade, students will return to the building for their classroom parties.

Participating students should come to school dressed in their costumes and also bring a change of clothes if needed for after the parade. Please make sure students’ costumes are not too scary and appropriate for all Redstone students from preschool age on up. Students are also not allowed to bring any type of weapons as a part of their costumes.

Spirit Wear & Spirit Fridays

Fridays will now be Redstone spirit days. Students are encouraged to wear their RSE gear or school colors to show their school pride on Fridays. Our official colors are burgundy, black and silver. Don’t forgot about those awesome Rockin’ Run shirts. Students are also allowed to wear spirit hats on Fridays.
