African American Parent Group Meeting

Hello African American Parent Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and are in to the swing of things with two and a half months of school under our belts.

I am Safia Omar, a parent of a fifth grader, and I am the committee chair for the African American Parents Group. 

We will start with the first in person meeting and after this first meeting, we can decide if we want to continue the monthly meetings in person or on zoom by consensus.

Our first in-person meeting’s agenda includes:

• -  Welcoming. 

• - Group introductions.

• - Discussing African American Student Data. 

• - Networking and brainstorming  ideas to increase equity and close student achievement gaps.

• - Gather feedback on how we need to connect and serve parents this year to support our children

• -  Ask questions or clarify information.

• -Creating next steps.
