Dear RHS Families,
We are excited to announce that our school will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) this year, Nov. 1-2, and we want to make it a special and meaningful experience for all. It is a time to honor and remember those who have passed away, and we encourage you to join us in this celebration by bringing in pictures of your dearly departed loved ones.
Starting Monday October 30th, we will be creating a beautiful ofrenda (altar) next to the school entrance, and we invite you to contribute photographs of your family members, friends, and pets who have passed away. This tradition is a way to keep the memories of our loved ones alive and share the significance of this cultural celebration with our school community.
Please follow these guidelines when bringing in pictures:
1. Photos should be copies of originals, unless you don't mind them being ruined or lost.
2. Include your name on the back of your photo if you would like it returned.
3. Students can submit photos to our art teacher, Ms. Matte, starting tomorrow.
We believe that celebrating Dia de los Muertos in this way will provide an opportunity for our students to learn about different cultures, traditions, and the importance of remembering those who have touched our lives.
We look forward to seeing our ofrenda come to life with the love and memories of your dear ones. Thank you for being a part of this special celebration.
In community,
The Latino Affinity Group & Ms. Matte
