Lunar New Year Celebration at RHS will feature a Lion Dance on Friday, January 31st, at 9:00 AM All are welcome to join!
Red Envelope Details:
- Two red envelopes (紅包, hóngbāo) will be sent home with students on Wednesday 1/29 or Thursday 1/30.
- One envelope contains treats for students to enjoy.
- The second envelope is empty. Students may optionally bring it back on 1/31 with a small donation ($1-$5) to “feed the lion” during the performance.
Please remind your child to bring back the empty envelope on 1/31 with a small donation ($1-$5) if they wish to participate in this tradition. If a monetary donation isn’t possible, a student-made drawing or note in the envelope would also be greatly appreciated.
The Lion Dance, performed by the prestigious Yau Kung Moon Association, is a highlight of Lunar New Year celebrations and brings good fortune, prosperity, and blessings to the community.
