MARCH into the Highlights
Wed, Mar 13 9:03pm
Redwood Heights Elementary

There's still time to participate in the Golden Sneaker Contest!
Help your classroom win the infamous TROPHY by...
walking, rolling, and/or carpooling to school for the rest of THIS WEEK.
If you don't live in the neighborhood, park your car or drop your kids off a couple blocks from school and walk the rest of the way.
It's a great opportunity to try the walking school bus from Jordan Park,
if you haven't yet done so...
Let's work together to lighten the traffic and foster a healthy lifestyle & keep our bodies moving!

Congratulations to our Walkathon theme contest winner -
5th grader, Jake Worf!
The theme is...
“Put down the controller; turn off the machine. It’s the walk, run, and roll-a-thon of 2019!”

The art contest is still going on. A link to the form is here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xXUancnEG-ewsBduQ6M7T1GDOKWzl6rb

Entries should be placed in the box on the office counter no later than
3pm on Wednesday March 20th.

Good luck and thanks from your Walkathon committee!

SEE YOU THERE!

The final quarter of enrichment for the school year begins after we get back from Spring Break.
Head here to see the classes that are starting.
And if you're interested in signing your child up for a class that's been meeting since January, simply reach out to the instructor.
Many of them would be happy to prorate the fee.

MARCH MADNESS is Redwood Heights Elementary School PTA's spring fundraising campaign, with a goal of raising $15,000 between March 11 and March 31, 2019.
The proceeds will be focused on a TECHNOLOGY REFRESH for the tools that our kids use every day. Our school needs $25,000 next fall to improve and refresh technology.
Each week everyone who donates will be entered in a raffle drawing for prizes drawn at the end of each week.
Check out these amazing prizes...
Give March 11 to March 17: Four Disneyland Park-hopper tickets, good until 12/20/20
Give March 18 to March 24: Four Disneyland Park-hopper tickets, good until 12/20/20
Give March 25 to March 31: Two HAMILTON tickets,  Orchestra level at SHN Orpheum Theater, winner's choice, any show in April or May 2019.
Give every week to be eligible to win all three prizes! Minimum donation to be entered into the raffle is $25, and each $25 of your total donation earns an additional ticket.
In addition to the raffle prizes above, CLASSROOM CHALLENGES will run each week. The 2 classrooms with the highest total amount donated each week win a Popsicle Party!

From now through April, when you order groceries or easy dinner kits at Good Eggs, go through https://schools.goodeggs.com and enter code RHS19, 5% of every order will go back to our school! New customers get $15 off with this code and if 20 new customers join the RHS fundraiser through April, the school gets a $500 fundraising bonus.

Drop Off Lane Duty

3rd Grade this week

4th Grade next week

USING THE DROP OFF LANE?

Please remember to follow the rules:

#1

When the car in front of you moves, you must move. Go with the flow of traffic, and head to the front of the line to drop off.

Don't cut the line. Don't leave the line out of turn. and...

Don't hold the line up to text or type an email as you wait to move up.

#2

Stay in your Car... Have your little loves ready to jump out when a person in a bright vest opens your passenger door with a smile.

***If you have to help them out of their seat, get their stuff out of the trunk of your car, or give them a little morning PDA... because they aren't teenagers and still love those hugs and kisses... please go park your car outside of the drop off lane. I promise everyone will be a little less stressed out if you do***

#3

Please don't use neighbors' driveways to pull a 3-point turn. Not only does it upset the homeowners, it delays the flow of traffic & creates a possible safety issue. Please continue on to the stop sign.
