The Redwood Height's Dad's Club Variety Show needs you!
Can you juggle or tell a joke? Do you know how to play an instrument, do magic or tricks with a soccer ball? Maybe you are really good at story telling or balancing plates on your head?
Be a part of history and audition for the 71st Annual RHS Dad's Club Variety Show.
Get together with other students, family or community and make it a GROUP ACT!
Auditions are coming up on February 1st, 2019.
Audition forms went out this week with every student.
If you need an extra form, the link is included.
Have fun planning and rehearsing your act and REMEMBER: there is a TWO minute time limit for all acts in the final show. We would love to have your music before auditions. Please forward your music file to our Sound Master at Aambush@gmail.com
Have fun and see you on February First!

Parents and Theatre Geeks! We need your help! Every year a dedicated group of volunteers gets the chance to make memories and the students sparkle up on our Variety Show Stage.
It only "costs" three Friday evenings and you can be a part of this special team.
Do you have experience running lights or sound? Moving sets or settling down excited, nervous student performers? Maybe your specialty is ushering or setting up the house.
Experienced or not, we need you. Please reach out and let me know if you want to help.
It is so much fun, you won't be disappointed!

Thank you to all who came out to support the Scholastic Book Fair last month!
Between our wonderful team of volunteers and supportive customer base the library made $10,763.31 in total sales and $5381.66 in Scholastic Dollars. Wow! Look for all of the NEW BOOKS coming into our collection.
The California Young Reader Nominees for 2019 hit the shelves last week and the refreshed graphic novels will be followed by the new nonfiction and Scholastic titles. Our young readers will have new choices to read and enjoy!
The Library Poster Raffle has begun! Each check in is an entry into our monthly poster raffle. No form necessary, simply return any library materials to receive an entry. Winners will be chosen monthly from each homeroom and will get to choose a Scholastic poster to take home WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. In an effort to encourage students to RETURN OVERDUE BOOKS and SHARE LIBRARY MATERIALS WITH THE COMMUNITY we ask that all books be returned to our collection after a two week checkout period, with an option of a one time renewal. Please reach out if this four week lending time is not enough. Redwood Heights is a sharing community and returning library books in a timely matter is at the heart of our values. Thank you.
Speaking of Sharing, THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who come in and share their time to help run circulation in the library. What a beautiful group of generous people! Students love to see your faces and it makes the library a community gathering point in a meaningful way. Look for your opportunity to join in the fun and sign up on Konstella to help - or just drop by on a Monday or Thursday if you have some time. There are all sorts of projects for all skills and interests.
See you in the Library! Emily Akemon, RHS Library Clerk & Guardian of the Books

Science Alliance is a great opportunity for the students to have fun with experiments. Its a great event that get the students excited for their individual science fair projects.

This year the Lawrence Hall of Science will bring a really engaging engineering festival, called "Build, Engineer, and Invent" for our kids. ON FEBRUARY 22nd, the students visit different stations in a free-choice environment, where they can go through a design cycle of building, testing, and iterating.

However, we need your help! Please sign up to run a station!
No experience required. Instructions are available.
And the children will LOVE you for it!

Please sign up to help our kids build, engineer, and invent stomp rockets, marble roller coasters, giant geometric structures, and more.

Yummy treats, coffee, and tea provided for all volunteers.

We might even be able to get you some family passes to Lawrence Hall of Science.
