the RHS Black Excellence Celebration!

The month of February marks Black History Month, an opportunity to recognize and honor the contributions, achievements, and resilience of black individuals who have shaped and impacted our society throughout history and into the present day.

In celebration of this continued cultural impact, we would like to invite our entire community to join us in celebrating the rich culture and history of our African American Heritage. We are so thrilled to invite you to this year's Celebration of Black Excellence social event on the evening of Thursday, February 27th, 2025 from 6:30PM - 8:00PM.

What to expect:

• A delicious dinner provided by black-owned business, Swahili Spot. 
• Fun, educational games featuring influential black leaders.
• Projects and art created by our children highlighting Black History Month.
• A raffle with prizes including the chance to win a beautiful African gown.
• A performance of the Black National Anthem, "Lift Every Voice and Sing"
• A book exchange and reading nook of books featuring Black narratives.
• A "Be the Hope We Wish to See!" wall featuring photos of our students.

What to bring:

• A photo of your student to pin on our "Be the Hope We Wish to See" wall.
• A book with positive representations of Black people for a book exchange.
