Dear Redwood Heights Community,
As you may have heard, the district (OUSD) and teachers’ union (OEA) are in active contract negotiations, and failure to reach an agreement this week may result in the teachers’ union going on strike as early as next Monday, May 1.
Although we are hopeful that these negotiations will succeed, we encourage you to plan ahead in case a strike occurs. During the last strike, families coordinated in their Konstella classroom channels to schedule playdates and share resources to cover the childcare they needed.
We will keep you posted with any information we receive, and are available to help answer questions at admin@redwoodheightspta.org.
In the meantime, we encourage you to find ways to make your voices heard by reading a letter to our RHS community from the OEA and the statement OUSD issued in Parent Square.
In solidarity,
Anna & Tiffany
