Workshop 3

An Interactive Introduction to Implicit Bias & Microaggressions on Race

Description

Implicit Bias, also know as unconscious bias or prejudice, have become a growing issue of concern for school communities. This is because research shows that unconscious forms of discrimination are at the root of unconscious and unintentional forms of discrimination, also know as Microaggressions. This workshop will look closely at the social identity of Race and the impact that these biases have on elementary school students. This training is often very emotional as we will discuss internalized and institutionalized discrimination and the impact that it has on students of color.
