Dear RHS Families,

The week of May 8th – 12th is Teacher Appreciation Week. That’s next week! We are very fortunate to have such an amazing group of teachers and staff at Redwood Heights Elementary School. Teacher Appreciation Week is our chance to let them know how much we appreciate all they do for our children all year long!

We know there is a possibility of an upcoming strike that may affect our celebration next week. However, we remain hopeful that an agreement will be reached, and we will be able to proceed with the scheduled festivities. Therefore, we are moving forward and working diligently to make this a wonderful week for our teachers and staff. 

The theme this year is “Best Teachers in The World!”

Please join us in celebrating this week-long event to show how much we value their hard work and dedication. Each day we will show our love for our wonderful teachers in a different way. As one would say, the easiest way to someone’s heart is through their stomach! Each grade level will provide the staff with some sort of nourishment based on the day’s themed destination. PLEASE sign up at your class’s designated sign-up sheet linked below!

The PTA has generously offered to provide a catered lunch on Wednesday of teacher appreciation week. We would also like to provide a catered lunch on Thursday.  If you can, please donate ($10-25) to the PTA to help cover the costs of the catered lunches on Wednesday and Thursday of teacher appreciation week. Send via PayPal or Venmo by Thursday, May 4th. Please enter “staff appreciation” in the notes field.

On Monday, Tuesday and Friday, please sign up to bring lunch treats, drinks and sweets. 

We will also need a few volunteers each day to help with set up/clean up. Please consider giving time. Your participation matters!

And if your heart is just bursting with so much love to give, your family can participate in an optional opportunity to shower our favorite staff members with gifts from the heart! The PTA has coordinated activities for students to participate in all that week. Teacher Wishlist’s will be provided by your room parents for reference. Please participate in what best suits your family.

  • Monday: My Teachers are NOTEWORTHY!! - Write your teacher a note explaining how they've impacted your life this year.
  • Tuesday: My thanks are in the CARDS!! - Make a homemade card or drawing for your amazing support staff. 
  • Wednesday: My teachers grow great MINDS! - Donate something off your teacher’s Wishlist or a needed classroom supply: pencils, tissues, paper towels, Sharpies, dry erase markers, Clorox wipes, copier paper, binder paper (wide ruled).
  • Thursday: My teachers are KEEPSAKES!! - Make a craft, keepsake or give a personalized gift.
  • Friday: My teachers are LOVED! Wear your teacher’s favorite color, give a fist bump and say "thanks" to all the teachers and staff you see. Hugs, High Fives, & Smiles and/or bring a flower from your garden for your teacher and/or favorite support staff!
