Hi Redwood Shores Elementary community,
Just wanted to take a second to send a sincere THANK YOU for making the candy buy back so successful. Our school donated an amazing 517 pounds of candy -- about 120 lbs more than we did last year! There are still a couple schools in the district that have not reported their numbers, but I think it's safe to say that RWSE will have the honor of feeding delicious snacks to the largest number of troops...
That also means that RWSE earned $517 for ShoolForce (thanks to dentists Drs. Urmi Amin and Nancy Kaher and local orthodontist Dr. Michael Chang for hosting this campaign) to fund librarians, reading specialists, science specialists, music, and more. You'll be receiving plenty more communications on why and how to donate, but for now I'd just like to focus on thanking all of you for making this first campaign such a success.
And if you've ever wondered what 517 lbs of candy looks like, or how well it fits into the back of a Mazda CX9 (along with a confused poodle), I've included some images below. Amazing generosity!
