PTA President’s Message

Dear Parents,

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a fantastic summer and have dived into the new school year head first.  We’ve already had so many great activities at school, and it’s only been a few days in!

Thank you so much to the dynamic duo, Naomi and Bobby Hernandez, for a fun and engaging Welcome Event last Tuesday!  Without their dedication and commitment, we couldn’t have had our first annual Welcome Event to start everyone’s year off with open arms and a sense of community.

We’ve also had our Back to School Night last Thursday.  I hope you all found it informational. If you have any questions regarding PTA, please feel free to reach out to me.  I would like to extend a huge Thank You to Yumi Clevenger for planning the wonderful dinner provided to the staff, so they could focus on getting ready for us parents on BTSN!

The school year often starts with a bang and we have a few Principal Coffee Chats scheduled for everyone to get to know our new wonderful Principal, Karrie Amsler. Please come enjoy a cuppa and learn what this year is going to be like. Please see below, or check the Konstella calendar for times and place as there will be 3 different sessions for the different grades.

Now that we have our class assignments, please go into Konstella and make sure to move your child into the correct class so you’re able to get the correct classroom, grade and school information.  It’s simple to do, but if you need help, here are the instructions.

As always, we’re looking for volunteers for our many activities!  In particular, if you have some time in your day, please come help with crosswalk (8-8:30am), valet (5th grade 8:10-8:30am), lunch recess supervision (11:30am-1pm) and Wednesday recess supervision (10:20am-12:20pm).  Our kids’ safety is relying on you!

Here’s to a great school year! Go Seals!

Back to School Night Presentations
In case you missed it -- here are links to the presentations from Sandy Nelson about the PTA, and Garth Fraser about SchoolForce.  Each teacher will post information for the class through Konstella.  (Make sure you've assigned yourself to the right classroom, and help other parents too!)

Art in Action
The Kindergarten, 1st, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms depend on parent volunteers to teach Art in Action lessons. No art background is necessary and training is provided. Check the Konstella calendar for information sessions on 8/27 or 8/31 or contact Peggy Chiu.
