Click here for details about an interactive workshop to explore some key concepts in our youth’s well-being, including anxiety, depression, and stress. It will also cover how these issues may present differently with youth and common causes, and ways adults in their lives can support them.

Read-A-Thon is Here for ONE MORE WEEK! Let's Keep Going!!!
We started our annual Read-A-Thon on January 12th.  We hope your kids are still excited about reading, logging their minutes, and raising money! This is one of the biggest fundraising efforts to help support our school.  The money raised pays to keep classroom size low and pay for science teachers, reading specialist, art, music and much more.
Please help your kids strategize about calling family members to ask them to sponsor your kids in their fundraising efforts. If each family member sponsors your students with $5, $10, $15, $20, $25, it makes a HUGE difference!  Our school has a goal of $60,000 and we really hope we can make our goal this year! Typically, Redwood Shores is behind other schools in our district in donations and we hope we can change that this year. If you are planning to support our schools $100 per month, you can make the entire donation during Read-A-Thon. You can also check with your employers to see if they match your donation.

Wednesday is our second pie throw day!
Ask your kids about last Wednesday's pie throw excitement! Three students threw pies at our dedicated and fabulous teacher, Mr. Tashman, who volunteered! THANK YOU Mr. Tashman!!! You Da Best!!!
To continue the fun we have another Pie Throw day on Wednesday at noon. Please remember to have your kids bring in their pledge forms to the library on Wednesday morning if they qualify to participate in one of the Pie Throw drawings. There are 2 ways students can enter the drawing:
1.) Matching Drawing:
Minimum of $50 in matching funds by an employer gets students entered in the first pie throw. 3 names will be pulled. (Example: parent works for EA and sponsors student $150. EA matches 1-1 and pays another $150 to SchoolForce Reading Power. Contact your HR dept to ask about matching.)
2.) Pledge Drawing: Each $500 gets 3 raffle tickets. 10+ pledges gets 1 raffle ticket (minimum pledge of $5).  3 names are pulled from this bucket.

Book Exchanges on Tuesday and Thursday mornings!
Book Exchanges take place Tuesday and Thursday mornings during the Read-A-Thon. Families bring books they are done with and trade them in for different books brought by other families. There are two locations - outside the library and in the kindergarten snack area. Check out volunteer sign ups to help set up the exchange and reward stations!

RWSE Book Fair starts February 5th!
Click here for a flyer about the RWSE Book Fair coming up on February 5-9. The book fair would not be successful without the help of our amazing volunteers. Click here to sign up to help out during Book Fair week.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact us through Konstella.
