We are one month into 2018! The holidays seem like such a distant memory already since we’ve already had a very successful Read-a-Thon. Special thanks to Sandra Delrahim for the tremendous effort it took to organize our favorite event as it got the kids reading! Even though the reading part is over, please don’t forget to collect those pledges!
As we head into February, the PTA Board is starting to think about next year. If you are interested in being on the PTA Board to make a difference at a school wide level, please contact anyone on the Nominating Committee (listed below). If you are interested to learn more about specific positions, feel free to contact the current Executive Board Members (more info below). The nominating committee has begun the search for the next group of amazing parent volunteers to ensure programs continue to be supported for our kids next year. We hope you will considering joining the team. Go Seals!

Parcel Tax Campaign Committee
The state of funding for the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District has been discussed during various PTA meetings. The school board is considering a parcel tax measure for the June ballot, and will be voting on March 8th. However, there are dedicated folks currently in the process of forming a committee of interested volunteers for the campaign in order to advocate for passage of the ballot measure. The committee co-chairs are April Northrup and Sapna Dixit. They have been actively recruiting but are still looking for volunteers to fill the roles listed below (see descriptions). If you are interested in becoming involved, please reach out to the co-chairs at the email linked to their names. It’s so important we get this passed as we are in dire need of funds, and having the broader community help parents is essential. Available volunteer roles include: Site Lead for Cipriani, Sandpiper, or Ralston, Volunteer Coordinator, Endorsement Chair, Phone Bank Chair, Precinct Walk Chair, Data Entry Chair.
Enrichment Clubs Planning Group
Calling all parents who have great ideas for how to structure and run enrichment clubs for next year. We pioneered Enrichment Programs this year, and it’s been extremely successful with lots of interested students. There were some bumps along the road and in order to avoid those next year, I’d like to meet with a few parents to discuss parameters and how to better serve our kids. If you are interested, please contact Sandy.
YEARBOOKS: It's not too late to order and it's time to start designing!
It's hard to believe it is February already! Which means we are 3 months away from the custom page deadline for our yearbooks. Many of the photos you have taken throughout the year can be featured in the yearbook pages, so please remember to upload those great shots into TreeRing, under the appropriate event or classroom folder. Take advantage of the upcoming break to do some uploading and to design your pages!
Haven't had a chance to order one? It is not too late... go to treering.com and use passcode 101282597210657. You will have until the end of April to create your custom pages. For questions, please contact Christine Wong.
