This has been a very educational week for both our kids and parents. The kids had a week long educational series focused on Whole Child Wellness. Thank you Cecilia Lau for organizing the great topics and activities throughout the week. We hope your child(ren) came home excited about what they learned or with some questions. For the parents (and one child :) ) who came to the PTA Meeting, our Superintendent, Dr. Milliken, provided an overview of the status of funding for our district, followed by Q&A. I encourage everyone who did not attend to learn more and attend one of the two town hall meetings listed below.
Capping off Whole Child Wellness week was today’s Walk-a-Thon event! It’s heartwarming to see all the families around campus cheering on students (and teachers and the Seal!) as they walked many laps around school. Thank you to Brent Russell for organizing yet another awesome Walk-a-Thon and carnival and of course we couldn’t have a party without our entertaining DJ Alex Agan. Everyone looked like they had an amazing time. I know I did!
Following this great tradition of mind and body health, our Running Club (our second Enrichment Program to take off) will begin on Tuesday, so come early to school and run or walk along the Walk-a-Thon track for health and earn “feet”. This club meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Check Konstella for details.
Hope everyone has a great week! Go Seals!

Our 6th Annual Walk-a-Thon Was a Hit!
THANK YOU to the more than 200 students who walked for our school yesterday, and to the dozens of volunteers who helped the day go smoothly. We're still collecting and tallying pledges but want to take this time to extend a huge THANK YOU to all the families that have donated to the Walk-a-Thon so far. Pledges will continue to be accepted through Monday, October 30th. Please email us if you have any questions. Special acknowledgment to:

Brent Russell, Walk-a-Thon Chair
Did you love the Walk-a-Thon and Whole Child Wellness week? Do you have great ideas for how it can be done next year? Our super chairs have done it the past several years and are ready to pass the baton to the next enthusiastic parents who would love to carry on these wonderful traditions. If you’d like to lead these next year or would like more info, please contact Sandy.
For this year, there are more volunteer opportunities as well. Please take a look on Konstella under committees and sign up or contact the PTA Committee Liaison.
