PTA President's Message
Dear Parents,
I can’t believe it’s October already!  Halloween costumes is the big topic of conversation in our household.  But before going trick-or-treating, there are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy!
Before getting into activities, have you seen our Facebook page? Thank you so much to Dennis Manalo for his very informative and heartwarming posts on things happening in our school community and beyond. Become a member to get a glimpse of what fun activities your kids are encountering that they are not telling you about when you ask, “How was your day?”

A multitude of busy parents spent their free time in September planning behind the scenes. One of the events which required that dedication was our annual Walk-a-Thon. It took a team to get this fun and energizing event planned and executed for our community today. I want to thank Jen Leung, VJ Rawat, Fabia Lazzaro, Shamica Vivekanand, Paris Jalali, Alex Agan for the wonderful music and the countless other parents who were not officially on the planning team but contributed in a big way for making our fundraiser an event to remember! Thank you to the families who participated and continue to help us fund activities and materials for an outstanding school and school community.
The biggest benefactor of funding is the students. Along with all the activities they do during school, PTA offers before and after school Enrichment Clubs. We have amazing parents who have volunteered their precious time to lead these weekly Enrichment Clubs, and I would like to thank each and every one of them. Before we even get students actually participating in these clubs, much organizing needed to be done. A big THANK YOU goes to
Ora Grinberg for her commitment to Enrichment Clubs, for ensuring all clubs have a space, for ensuring the dedicated leads meet the requirements of PTA and the district, for making this year’s sign up process a huge improvement over last year’s, and for her ongoing management of the clubs (and leading one herself!).  If any parent is interested in leading a club, please contact Ora. We have much interest in the lower grades (3rd and below).
There are many more activities coming up in the next few weeks, so please keep an eye out for notices and check the Konstella calendar! The week of the 15th is a doozie culminating in our 2nd PTA Meeting Friday morning. Store up your reserves, and maybe I’ll see you every day that week! Go Seals!
Sandy Nelson, PTA President

Enrichment Club Information
Hi parents of kids in Enrichment Clubs,
Thank you for your patience as we work on implementing a fair and inclusive club registration process.  It is now mostly complete and lists of registered and wait listed students have been sent to the club leads.  The club leads of the returning clubs (Math Olympiad, Robotics, Newspaper, and Running) are in the process of contacting registered students and some clubs have even met already!
The Yoga and Crazy8 Math clubs (the new clubs accepting kids from the lower grades) are going to need a few more weeks to get started as both clubs still need a dedicated co-lead.  The leads for both clubs already have lists of kids who are on the registered list and on the waiting list, which have been populated during the registration process.  These lists won't be communicated to the parents until we obtain co-leads (to ensure that spots are available for co-lead's kids before the list is finalized).
Crazy8 Math meets on Fridays at 4pm and is open to K-2 students.  Yoga club meets on first and third Friday of the month (potentially to increase to every Friday with time) at 3:15pm and is open to K-1 students. Both clubs have parents who volunteered to help but are in need of a committed co-lead who can attend all of the club meetings and help lead.  A club lead needs to be level 3 cleared volunteer and PTA member.  As a reminder, club leaders' kids (this is specific to co-leads and not occasional helpers) can join the club without going through the registration process and spot in club is guaranteed to them.  Please contact Ora, Enrichment Chair, if you are available and interested in helping co-lead (or would like more information).   Once the clubs are set up with two co-leads, an email will go out to all of the parents on the registered list.

Annual Halloween Parade
On Wednesday, October 31st, RWSE is having its annual Halloween Parade. The parade will start at approximately 8:50am. Classes will parade around the school using the same route as the Walk-a-Thon. Please review details about costumes, parade attendance, healthy treats, and very limited parking!
