PTA President's Message
We have dived in head first into the school year. Thank you to Garth Fraser, Monica Brillantes and Cyanna Chung for stepping up to ensure we start the school year off safely by organizing crosswalk and valet volunteers. Also thank you to Christy Meier for getting our room parents all ready for the school year as well as Peggy Chiu for organizing and preparing our Art-in-Action docents. Of course a huge thank you to all who have volunteered as a room parent and Art-in-Action docent. We can’t function without you all!
We’ve had a couple of Principal Coffee Chats for the TK-2nd grade families. I hope they’ve been informative, educational, and helpful to reduce some stress about school. The last one for 3rd/4th/5th grade families will be this Thursday, 9/13 at 8:45am in Room 8. Please come enjoy a cuppa, learn what this year is going to be like and ask questions.
Time sensitive asks:
Speaking of fundraising, if you have not donated to the PTA during registration and would like to invest in our success, it’s not too late! Click here to access the PTA donation sheet. Your donation helps fund technology, instructional materials, field trips, before and after school clubs, teacher education, emergency supplies, teacher/staff appreciation, fun events and so much more. If you’re not sure whether you donated during registration, reach out to me.
A PTA membership link has also been added in case you are not yet a member. If you are unsure, please contact Lisa Hing. PTA helps you keep up with what's happening at school, know what you can do to make a positive difference, build a bridge between family, teachers and staff, advocate for your child, make positive changes at RWSE and beyond, provide a better education for your child, and teach your child the importance of giving back to the community. We hope you will join us in supporting our children.
Our first PTA General Meeting will be Friday, September 21st at 8:30am in the library (note date change from previous announcements).
If you’ve been looking to sign up for lunch recess supervision (11:30am-1pm) and Wed/min day recess supervision (10:20am-12:20pm, split into 2 session), they are now visible to the entire school (not just committees). Please consider signing up. Our kids’ safety is relying on you! If you are able to coordinate, we REALLY need someone to manage the lunch and Wed/min recess supervisors. Please let me know if you can be the coordinator to whom Nicky and Karrie can reach out to when there is a need. That would be so awesome!
Finally, Karrie also needs a ‘room parent’ if someone is able to help out. Please reach out to her if you have an interest in helping.
Here’s to a great school year! Go Seals!
