School District Information
On Sunday, emails were sent to families with a link to the
BRSSD Student Information Update. In order to receive your class assignments on the Sunday before school starts, you will need to complete this update. In addition to confirming/adding emergency contact information, you will kindly be asked to make your donations to the PTA’s Generosity Campaign, Opening Doors and SchoolForce. (Information about the interworking of these organizations will be available at back to school night and PTA meetings.) Please know, that no amount is too small and every dollar counts!

PTA Announcements

Take A Quick Survey About Traffic Flow At RSES
Please take one minute to answer 4 online survey questions in order for us to better evaluate our current traffic flow situation and plan some improvements. (Only 16 responses have been submitted thus far.)  We also ask that you set a good example and remember the following are NOT allowed: parking in disabled parking spaces without a permit, double parking, speaking inappropriately to one another or to staff, parking in red zones, and driving in front of students in crosswalks. We must all work toward safety, respect, and responsibility when it comes to bringing children to and from school. Let's Go Seals!

School Supplies Update
We are 77% of the way to our goal, and still need $3,750 to meet our budget to buy school supplies for RSES students this year. The PTA, teachers and staff ask for a $50 donation per student so we can utilize bulk purchasing power and have all teachers and classrooms fully equipped with the best learning materials when school starts! Donations can be made through this link, anyone can donate, any amount! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our school supply fund so that each teacher and child has the supplies they need to be successful this year.

Become Our Financial Secretary!
Are you interested in helping our school stay on track with budget decisions, donations, and spending? Please consider joining the PTA Board as Financial Secretary. Review the position description and send questions or your interest to Helen McCormick or Jen Vitug.

New Family Orientation
On Wednesday, August 14th at 6:30 - 8pm at Nesbit School, there will be an orientation session for all incoming new families to the School District. There will be a presentation by Superintendent Michael Milliken, followed by break-out sessions where each of our 7 Schools will talk about and address specific questions related to their Schools, welcoming these new families to our community. SchoolForce will also answer questions about our local educational foundation!

Kindergarten Updates
Thanks to all who attended the Kinder play date this past weekend! Families and students are invited to a Kindergarten Orientation in their assigned classrooms on Tuesday, August 20th at 12-1pm. (Classroom assignments will be sent by email a few days prior to the start of class.)

First Grade Meet & Greet
Please bring your children to the 1st Grade Meet & Greet from 2-2:30pm on Tuesday, August 20th to see their classroom and meet their teachers!

Welcome Back To School Social
Join us on Tuesday, August 20th from 4-6pm for fun on the campus playground! Enjoy a jumpy house/slide, face painting, sports and activities by i9, music by DJ Alex, and bring some cash for Kona Ice and Fletch's Hot Dogs! A portion of the proceeds from the food vendors will go to the PTA -- so please come and support your school and our friendly neighborhood vendors.

PTA Coffee Chat on the First Day of School
Wondering what to do once the kids are back to school? Come chat, mix and mingle with other parents and PTA members at 8:30am on the first day of school. Hope to see you there!

Back to School Night for Parents
Please attend our Back to School Night on Thursday, August 22nd at 6:30-8pm to review school information and presentations from your child's teacher! Note, this is an ADULT ONLY event, so arrange for home childcare as soon as you can!

Using Konstella
Konstella has been “archived” so we can get ready for the new school year and new classroom assignments.

  • Families will continue to have the same profiles, but your child will not be assigned to a classroom.
  • Files and photos posted in classrooms, or school-wide, are archived and can be found through the Search feature.
  • You can continue to use Konstella as our directory to find family and student contact information at any time.
  • Committees will remain in their current status until August when we begin to prepare for the next school year.
  • Once you receive an email from the district with your new classroom assignment (usually within a few days of school starting), you can go into your profile on Konstella and select that classroom for your child. You will see the other students in the classroom as they do the same updating to their profiles, and the classroom listing will become complete as all families do these updates. Teachers and room parents can also make these assignments for any student that has not yet been moved by their parents into the correct classroom.

Community Messages
Note: Items are shared as a service to our school and are not affiliated with the District or PTA. The PTA has not reviewed the activities and services, has not conducted background checks of any individuals, and does not endorse them.  Families should research these activities and services before enrolling their children.
