PTA President's Message
Dear Parents,
It’s Halloween!  Where did the time go?!  We are rounding out the PTA fundraising season with only 3 days to go!  If you’d like to donate to PTA, please do so via Konstella linked here by the end of day October 31st (trick or treat!).  We appreciate every single dollar donated to support the many programs benefiting every child and making our community more amazing than it already is.  We’ll continue to have events and activities of course, so don’t worry, you’ll still hear from us and we definitely still need you. :)
Speaking of needing help, we need someone to help revamp our school website. Simplified, organized content with a welcoming feel would really exemplify what our school represents.  If you’re able to help, please let me know.
What did you think of our first Restaurant Give Back night?  Hope you had a chance to go last Monday to Mendocino Farms. If you’d like to see more (it’s always a good excuse not to have to think about what’s for dinner!), let Paris Jalali know and we can explore other restaurants.
As some of you know since you’ve ordered new gear, we kicked off new spirit wear sales two weeks ago.  Orders are being taken on Konstella linked here.  The new logo, gear and accessories are awesome, so don’t miss out!  It would be so great to see a sea of blue and green at our next spirit day!
After speaking to many parents, I realize that not many know what the PTA Board does.  There is a ton of work that goes into every little detail of every event, activity, program, etc. Each Board member has a specific duty connected to the position, but there is so much more that needs to get done outside of the 10 jobs. To enable this, each Board member is also responsible for a category of activities and whatever miscellaneous thing that needs to get done. I’ll start highlighting them in future Catch messages, but in the meantime, if you’re interested in being on the PTA Board and helping to shape the future of our school, please reach out to me or any Board member with questions.  It won’t be long before we will need to seat the next PTA Board, so start thinking about it seriously!
Hope to see you around!  Go Seals!
Sandy Nelson, PTA President

PTA Announcements

Box Top Collection by this Wednesday 10/31!
Please bring in your Box Top collection!  Each classroom has a Box Top collection bag.  A Box Top is worth 10¢ for our school. The contest for "which classroom will collect the most" ends this Wednesday, 10/31 (Halloween).

Annual Halloween Parade
On Wednesday, October 31st, RSES is having its annual Halloween Parade. The parade will start at approximately 8:50am. Classes will parade around the school using the same route as the Walk-a-Thon. Parents should stand along the sides of the parade route and not walk through the parade.
Costumes should be tasteful, modest, and appropriate for a school environment. Students are invited to wear their costumes to school.  They need to bring a change of clothes (in a bag labeled with their name), so that they can change out of costumes after the parade.  No form of weapon, blood, or gore may be part of the costume.  This includes bows, arrows, javelins, swords, etc.
Parking will be challenging on campus.  Please plan to walk to school if possible.
Please review details about costumes, parade attendance, healthy treats, and very limited parking!
Halloween Candy Buy-Back
After Halloween, bring all excess candy to school!  The candy buy-back is sponsored by the dental & orthodontic offices of Drs. Urmi Amin, Michael Chang & Nancy Kasher. For each pound of wrapped candy we collect, the dentists will donate $1 to SchoolForce, up to $3,500! We take the candy to their office in San Carlos and then it is shipped off to US troops overseas as part of Operation Gratitude. Thanks in advance for your participation!
