Hello Riverside Families!
The Bike and Pedestrian Committee has been working hard to make our streets safer for everyone who walks or bikes to school. Based on the feedback many of you shared in last year’s survey, our primary focus this year has been the intersection at Harrison Street and Prospect Avenue.
This intersection is a key crossing point for many Riverside students traveling east to school, as well as Princeton Middle School and Princeton High School students traveling west. Because so many children rely on this crossing each day, improving safety here is an important priority for our community.
Over the past several months, we’ve met with town officials to discuss possible improvements, and we're sensing an opportunity for municipal action. However, it’s critical that council members hear directly from members of the Riverside community.
If you’re able, please consider sending a brief email to the council members (addresses listed below) in advance of the meeting on Monday, March 9th expressing your opinion about crossing safety at the Harrison & Prospect intersection and encouraging the town to pursue any necessary improvements.
Hearing directly from families who rely on this crossing will help demonstrate how important this issue is for our students and our community.
Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you for helping make our routes to school safer for everyone!
Warmly,
Meagan Levinson (meagan.levinson@gmail.com)
