Dear 5th grade families,

The upcoming Pasta Dinner, on Friday, November 15, is organized by the 3rd grade classes, but traditionally, 5th graders help to earn tips to put towards 5th grade end of year special events and celebrations/trip! Please sign up below if your 5th grader would like to help out. 

The 5th Graders will work in shifts -- set-up, serving, and clean-up including a favorite green team activity - clearing tables/drying (not washing) green dishes. 

Please note that the kitchen staff has asked the the children NOT go back near the commercial dish washers so the kids will work the 'front of house' and dry clean dishes. 

Please wear white top and dark bottoms (black if you have but dont feel the need to buy just for this!)  Please arrive 15 minutes prior to their shift. Roles include: 

• Setting up tables
• Putting out (and refilling) bread baskets or other needs from the event organizers
• Pouring drinks (a conservative pour vs. a generous one so that we don't run out of beverages)
• Clearing green plates and  cups as people finish and leave their table
• Prepping/drying cups and dishes in the kitchen
• Other: there may be other things (e.g., during setup or at the end of the night) where their help will be needed but the goal is to have them out, front and center, so that they can collect tips!  

Parent Supervisor Tasks: 

• Oversee the 5th graders to keep them on track with their tasks and Tip Jars
• Encourage patrons to tip the 5th graders as the money goes towards end-of-the-year 5th grade activities (cash or venmo PTO "TIPS"
• Collect/consolidate tips for the shift and hand off to PTO Treasurer
• The 5th graders are usually quite proud of their tips!
