Riverside Courtyard Restoration Update
Mon, Apr 6 7:53pm

The Riverside PTO, in partnership with the Princeton Public School District, Principal Achtau and a team of teachers, has kicked off the restoration of the central Courtyard, a speical project, to transform this space at the heart of Riverside Elementary school.

The space has been largely overgrown and unusable.

In phase one, we have partnered with Rutgers Landscape Architecture Program, and the district to reimagine the space and will soon restore the space with a series of zones for multi-use. The new couryard will be a tranquil and inspiring outdoor learning space.

We have input from landscape, design and autism professionals and over 100 students, teachers and community members. We will vote on proceeding with the next phase of the program at the March 27 PTO meeting.

Please review the content in the community update attached and reach out to Michelle Baxter at  president@rspto.org with any questions or if you are interested in getting involved withe the project. Please join us and look out for a Spring Courtyard restoration club! We would love to have parents lead portions of the program and we can share more details.

The local Patch has started to buzz about our project!
