Our community has a vision for a thriving, green schoolyard that helps our kids learn, grow and be healthy.
This critical committee will help to carry that vision forward leading fundraising and implementation projects to build school grounds that:
- Reflect the diverse identities and needs in our school and contribute to a strong sense of belonging.
- Give kids opportunities to play and learn in green spaces every day
- Provide flexible, weather-appropriate places for gathering during and after school
This is a long term (and achievable!) vision that can be broken down into smaller, achievable projects. It is super rewarding to work on... and also requires patience and dedication to all the little steps along the way.
This committee is actively:
- Identifying priority projects in collaboration with community and in line with the PPS-approved schoolyard vision
- Identifying fundraising opportunities, including writing grants
- Building and managing relationships with nonprofit and contractor partners
- Planning and leading community work parties to achieve project goals, as needed
- Keeping the school community and school leaders informed and involved in the progress
