EFMP SPEDucation blitz "Behavioral Plans": EFMP in partner with the Learning Disabilities Association of Hawaii (LDAH) holds a free monthly class regarding Special Education. The August class will cover Behavioral Plans. When: Tuesday, 15 August 2017, 10:00 a.m. -11:30 a.m. Where: Outdoor Rec Center, bldg. 2110. Youth Mental Health First Aid: Free 8 hour public education program introducing participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. When: Thursday, 10 August & Friday, 11 August9:00am to 1:00pm both days. Where: SFAC, 371 Brannon Road. Bldg. 663. Registration: Go to

The Special Olympics Terminators team is recruiting new athletes for their basketball and bowling league! Any individual eight years of age and older who is identified as having intellectual disabilities by an agency or a professional is eligible to become a Special Olympics athlete. Children ages 6-7 can participate in the Future Stars youth athlete program. There are also opportunities for siblings and parents to participate as unified partners. Please see the attached flyer for additional information.

Sibling Support Class (Poki 'i Support): Only 12 slots available. This free bimonthly class is for individuals ages 6 to 13 who are siblings of individuals with special needs, chronic medical conditions, or life-threatening illness that are enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program. Classes are full of FUN & upbeat activities and provide an opportunity for siblings to meet friends, express their feelings and discuss experiences of being a sibling. When:Friday, 25 August 2017, 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Where: Army Community Service, Bldg. 2091. Register: You MUST call ACS EFMP to reserve your slot, 808-655-4227. Slots are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Due to limited slots a 24 hour cancellation notice is required.
