Call for Art in Action volunteers!
We may be virtual, but we are still doing art! Please add your name to the Art in Action committee on Konstella if you are interested in teaching or assisting with zoom-based art lessons.
We are planning two lessons to start off the year, and materials will be sent home for students. See below for a lesson list. (Home-friendly lessons were chosen, so they are not necessarily the first lessons we would teach in the classroom.)
A docent will lead a short zoom-based lesson with the class, and then we will split the students into separate rooms for the project portion of the zoom call. We will need at least one assistant per class to help answer questions and moderate the discussion in the second room while kids are creating their art. If we have additional assistants, we can split the students into smaller groups. Zoom lessons will be no longer than 1 hour.
Lesson dates and times have yet to be determined, and will be arranged once teachers and students get to know each other this week.
Thank you for volunteering!

Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else. ~Sydney Clemens
