Dear Southies,
Tomorrow, come join us for the Parade for Belonging! Similar to our beloved Walk/Bike to School days, families can meet at a location and walk to school together but with the added twist of focusing your time on connecting with families that you don’t already know so that we can strengthen our South community.
Please meet between 7:55 and 8:05 am at one of three homes:
The Harris Family (525 El Cerrito for 4th and 5th)
The Heston Family (508 Roehampton for 2nd and 3rd grade)
The Stoler Family (333 El Cerrito for 1st, K and TK)
*Please do not drop off your child(ren) after 8:15am, as groups will be walking to school by 8:15am.
*We’d like to keep each group together, so this is not a bike or scooter activity. Dancers, marchers, wheelchair-rollers, walkers and strollers are all welcome!
The Parade for Belonging is part of Building Belonging Week, a special district-wide initiative, co-sponsored by IDEA, designed to enhance students’ sense of belonging in their school and community. This week-long celebration aims to honor the wonderful diversity in our school community and help students learn that they have a role to play in making our schools feel welcoming and inclusive for everyone.
On Sunday 9/24 from 11- 12:30 we invite all families to join us at Crocker for the Crocker Community Carnival! Run by Crocker students, this free event for families will feature carnival games. We hope to see you there.
With Gratitude,
Jackie Hsu & Stephanie Ko
