Field Day and Slime the Principal!
Thu, May 9 7:34pm
Field Day is fast approaching, and we need your help!
We are anticipating so much fun for Field Day 2019!  This year, our plan is for every student will receive a field day t-shirt, and a lunch, free of charge.  Lunch will be served from an all-beef hotdog food truck (vegan dogs available upon request!) and will be provided for all students and staff.  For those who prefer an alternative, the cafeteria will be available, or students are welcome to bring a sack lunch.  Field day will be an all day affair this year, and our very own Mr. Lazear has planned a fantastic day of activities.  All of the fun will be free of charge to our students, but if you are able to help the PTSO cover some of these costs, your donations are most appreciated!  Details for our Slime-the-Principal fundraiser can be found at #1 below.  We are also looking for volunteers to help with the events, or provide some of the necessary items (see #2 below).
In order to make Field Day the best it can be, we need you:
#1. Field Day is set to culminate with "Slime the Principal," but in order to earn the right to slime Ms. Ginocchio, the students need to raise $2300.  We've extended the collection deadline through next Thursday, May 16th.  Sliming Ms Ginocchio was the highlight of the day last year, so if you are able, please help us make this happen again this year.  You can donate by cash, check made out to Spencer Center PTSO, or online through our PayPal account.  You can click this link for PayPal or log in and make a payment to  The kids *loved* this part of Field Day last year, and we can't wait to make it happen again.
#2. We need lots of help to make the actual event of Field Day a success.  We are looking for folks who are able to be at school on that day, and help run a station (you will be given instructions, and the teachers and paras will still be there with the kids), help set up, help clean up, etc.  We also need some supplies, like fruit to make those hot dog lunches a little healthier.  Please check out our signupgenius and add your name if you are able to help:
Thanks, everyone!  We are looking forward to a fantastic event!
