Excitement is in the air as the students at Summerwind STEM Academy have begun their final unit in STEM, the Cardboard Challenge! The idea for this unit came from a short film titled “Caine’s Arcade”. If you have not had a chance to view this, please do. The video can be found at www.cainesarcade.com.

Students will design and create arcade games using cardboard, recyclable materials and their imagination. In this newsletter you will find a list of needed materials. If you are able to donate any of these items it would be greatly appreciated! All donated items will be stored in a community stash. If your student brings something that is specifically for their game, it will be stored in their classroom.

On build day, May 31st, from 1:00-3:00pm, the entire student body will build their designs. We will need a lot of volunteers to make this a success.
