The Summerwind Read-A-Thon
The Summerwind Read-A-Thon encourages kids to read, which improves the quality of our student’s education and raises money for our school. Here is how easy it is!

Oct. 24-28 students commit to reading 100 minutes or more (no need to write it down.)

Oct. 31-Nov 11, students ask friends, family and neighbors they know (with a parent or trusted adult), to donate to the Read-A-Thon to support their school. The money raised will go towards field trips for each grade level.

Students can bring their envelope to school as soon as they’ve collected money. (Bring it back home and collect more.)
Raise $10- get a Summerwind dog tag with the chain.
For every $10 raised after that, get another dog tag.
With each $10 raised, a raffle ticket with your name goes in a drawing to win a Kindle Fire or one of two Razor Scooters! Raise $20, get 2 tickets. Raise $100, get 10 tickets.
The more you raise, the better chances you have to win!

Once we collect the money and hand out prizes, we will return the envelope to you so you can keep on collecting.

Finally, show school spirit by wearing your Summerwind Dog Tags to school during our collection period from October 31 through November 11!!

Winners of the Kindle Fire and the Razor Scooters will be announced after November 11
Whether your child participates or not, please return the collection envelope on November 11 so we can use it next year.
