Dr. B Meet and Greet

Thu Jun 9, 2022 1pm – 2pm Pacific Time - Los Angeles

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new Denali Middle School Executive Director. I am excited to be joining the Grizzly community and look forward to meeting each of you over the coming weeks.

A little about me
I am arriving at Denali as a seasoned school administrator, district office coordinator, general education teacher, and special education teacher. In addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a mother. I was directly drawn to Summit Denali because of the clear alignment with my own beliefs and passion and the ways in which Denali and the Summit model truly centers students and strives for equity.

The 2022-2023 school year will mark my 23rd year in education. I began my career as an educator s in Baltimore, Maryland, and more recently have been serving the Millbrae community in the Bay Area. Although I have always felt at home in the classroom, it is in my position as a school administrator where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. The executive director position allows me to work with teachers and school staff daily while also remaining connected to the students learning and growing in the classroom.

My conversations with our Denali teachers and staff have brought me privileged insights into the core beliefs and values that underlie the Summit Public Schools. I look forward to strengthening the relationships I have begun building with our outstanding students, families, teachers, and talented staff. I view education as a life-long process and expect that I will continue to learn much about the uniqueness of Denali this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I firmly believe that every child can excel, and the partnership between home and school builds confidence in students to use their power to shape their future and the future of our community and beyond.

To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! It is going to be a fun year of learning together. I look forward to meeting each of you on June 8th.

In the coming weeks we will have the first of many opportunities to connect.
