The Food For Thought Expedition is taking a field trip to the Second Harvest Food Bank this week to tour the facility and decorate food bags for senior citizens.

  • morning class will go on Wednesday from 8:25am-10:35am
  • afternoon class will go on Thursday from 11:15am-1:35pm.

The group is short parent drivers.  If you have a student in one of these groups or if you have some free time to give, please consider signing up to drive for this field trip.  If you can drive, please contact Brooke Hein (bhein@summitps.org) and let her know which day(s) and how many students you can drive.

Here's the plan:
We will leave from the Weddell campus and drive to the food bank in San Jose. The address is 4001 N 1st St, San Jose, CA 95134. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from the school. The visit at the food bank itself should only be about 1-1.5 hours. All parents who can drive would need to be registered as parent drivers with the school and will need to arrive at the Weddell campus about 5 minutes before we plan to leave.
