Host a Summit Denali Intern!
Tue, Sep 17 9:46am

As a part of our Expeditions program at Summit Denali, students have the opportunity to design their own learning experience through our Internship and Independent Study program.  During this time, instead of attending Denali and enrolling in Expeditions, students fill out a contract to define their own learning goals through an internship or self directed independent study. They provide a fantastic opportunity for students to get professional experience, explore a possible career, develop confidence and strengthen communication skills in a new learning environment.

Interns are hosted for 4 two-week sessions over the course of the year in which they're working 30 hours per week working in a variety of experiences.  So far this year, we have students planning to intern as Cabin Leaders at Walden West, writing a manuscript for a book, working at an architecture firm, event planning for a Summit-wide film festival, and more! The upcoming dates for SY20 are listed below:

Expeditions at Denali this year

  • Round 1: Oct 15 - 25
  • Round 2: Jan 7 - 17
  • Round 3: March 16 - 27
  • Round 4: May 26 - June 5

Due to such a strong interest in our first senior class, the Denali internship program has doubled in size this year, and we are looking to you, our Denali parent community, to help us expand our partnerships.  Learn more about hosting an intern here!

Listed below are a few brief descriptions of students who are still looking for an internship.  If you have a professional connection that may host one of these student interns, consider reaching out to mbernstein@summitps.org to ask more questions about the program, or to start setting up the internship!  Additionally, if you can think of a professional opportunity outside the needs listed below, we have many students who are interested in participating, but are interested
