Three months into the school year, and we are still going strong. We know it often feels like a whirlwind as you try and balance work, family and school for your household, and we appreciate your commitment to Summit Denali for your student and your family. Tomorrow night is another opportunity for us to gather, as a parent community, and better understand what is being asked and taught to our children. Our third Parent Education Night is being held at the Weddell Campus, tomorrow night (Tuesday, November 8th) starting at 6:30. We are very aware that it is also Election Day, but we hope you will vote early and still join us for this important event.
Our talented teaching staff will present a session on the "Habits of Success," which is the research based program that empowers Denali students to become self-directed learners and develop habits that will lead them to success in college and life. Your student currently takes weekly classes in the Habits of Success, and practices the habits on a regular basis through Mentor Time, Goal Setting and Reflection. Your valuable part in this process is to understand the program, and then support it at home, and off campus, when your student needs guidance. Understanding the language, and expectations of the program is the best way to support it, so I hope you will be able to join us tomorrow night (don't forget: At Weddell, at 6:30 pm)
I look forward to seeing you there.
